I’m Laureanne, owner of Laureanne Artisanal Pastries. I started baking as a
hobby, having spent my childhood watching my Auntie Sol create beautiful, towering
tiers of wedding cakes. I am somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to baking. I
didn’t learn how to bake until I was fourteen. My first attempt was a sad-looking custard
cake. It tasted good but it wasn’t pretty. But I persevered and was eventually rewarded
with a lovely-looking and heavenly-tasting golden layer of creamy custard atop a fluffy,
light-as-cloud orange chiffon cake. Then, I got ambitious. I have heard of countless
stories from home bakers of how difficult it was to make a Sans Rival cake from scratch.
Not only was it time-consuming to make, but it was extremely difficult to get the correct
consistency and texture of its finicky meringue layers. Mastering the Sans Rival
became a delicious obsession; and, when I finally perfected the recipe, I knew I found
my passion for the baking arts. As a self-taught baker, I turned simple Filipino dessert
recipes into gourmet confections. Using high quality ingredients and small-batched
artisanal methods, we, at Laureanne Artisanal Pastries have been creating delectable
desserts since 2019.
Laureanne Artisanal Pastries is a fully licensed, insured, and Dine-Safe certified home-
based bakery located in South Ajax, proudly serving the Greater Toronto Area.
Our artisanal pastries are made fresh to order, handcrafted to perfection and wrapped
up in pretty packages.
