Kumikanuck

Marg started "playing" with beads approximately seven years ago. She was shown the technique of kumihimo braiding, and a new creativity blossomed. Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese art form, in which cords are woven together to form complex and remarkable braids. Presently, the art of kumihimo has made a resurgence using both the traditional marudai or with foam disks. Marg uses the very transportable foam disk method to create one of a kind beaded or cord jewellery pieces. Her patterns are her own, and generally evolve as the piece progresses. As a retired laboratory technologist, the technical method of kumihimo braiding is a perfect fit!
