Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Sherri, the maker behind IdleWild Designs Canada. I was born and raised in Whitby, and I love my hometown and supporting local businesses.
When I’m not crafting I’m either off hiking and exploring in the woods, or travelling afar - although that’s on hold currently! My two most recent adventures were a month-long expedition to the Antarctica where I spent hours each day walking amongst and photographing penguins and fur seals, and previous to that I was fortunate to experience a one-day expedition to Sable Island, Nova Scotia where I took 10,000 photos of wild horses and grey seals.
As a maker, I am passionate about creating unique wreaths and decor from materials that inspire me. My business name ‘IdleWild’ comes from my eagerness to spend my ‘idle’ time harnessing my creativity from nature’s ‘wild’ beauty. I enjoy the creative process, deciding what colours, flowers, and other components work best together.
I also love working on custom orders. Making that special one-of-a-kind piece for someone special, or a keepsake for a special or annual celebration/holiday.
