Meet the Maker
In February 2016, I was sitting in the second year entrepreneurship class at Niagara College Canada and handed a project. Our final assignment was to come up with an in depth business plan and pitch the concept to our class. After days of no ideas, it finally hit me - ironically while soaking in the tub.
I wanted to create a line of natural and effective bath and body products for physical and mental pains. Mental and physical illnesses has touched all of our lives in some way or another, some more than others. The best way to aid in recovery (in addition to medication and/or various therapies - Do whatever works best for you!) was to de-stress and unplug. I wanted to combine the best nature has to offer through plant extracts, herbal teas, essential oils and enzymes with the tough, hard working, yet gentle ingredients backed by science.
After weeks of prep, trials and research I came up with Mojo Hydrotherapy and told the class all about it. From there the project was voted #1 in the class - and won third out of 20 other business plans at the College level! Afterwards, we enrolled in the City of St. Catharines Summer Company Program which gives tools and financial grants to assist young entrepreneurs to launch businesses. I never expected this little idea to touch so many people and want to support it to fruition. We worked along side some great professionals in many industries including brick & mortar, marketing, finance and the Niagara Chambers of Commerce. We began a website and all the fixings that go along with a small handmade business! I remember my first show - We sold out in under an hour. I'm so thankful for the strangers that have become friends and family over the year and proved there was a need for this little concept.
Through our growth we have only connected more strongly with our roots to be gentle but effective. We want our products to be unique, but be a solution to the problems so many of our amazing customers ask for. We love feedback, reviews and meeting all our amazing supporters! We can't thank you enough for making this little class project my passion.
